Congresswoman Scanlon has supported bipartisan legislation to expand access to benefits for veterans affected by Agent Orange during the Vietnam War, measures to help homeless veterans receive housing, and legislation to ensure that spouses and families of deceased veterans are given the benefits they deserve.

As a member of Military Sexual Trauma Prevention Caucus, and she is working with both parties to ensure that Congressional leaders prioritize the issue of sexual assault in the Military in the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act.
