Congresswoman Scanlon Responds to Latest Service Reductions by Crozer Health
Chester, PA,

Chester, PA – Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05) issued the following statement after public reporting on plans for additional service reductions by Crozer Health: “Every hospital system has struggled as they respond to the pandemic, but only one in our area has so miserably shortchanged patients and staff while looting the system to profit its owners. Health care is a human right and should be treated as such — not as an opportunity to make a profit. What we are experiencing right now with continued service reductions by Crozer Health is unconscionable and appears to be a direct result of corporate greed in the health care industry. I’ve been working with other members of Congress to raise concerns about the business practices of Crozer's parent company Prospect Medical Holdings for more than two years. My team and I will continue to support Delaware County officials as they navigate their response to Crozer's reduction of services, while also exploring avenues for potential federal oversight and resources.” ### |
