Scanlon Delivers $186 Million to Lower Costs and Increase Energy Efficiency for Pennsylvania Households

Chester, PACongresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05) today announced a $186,041,067 investment from the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) to lower costs and increase energy efficiency for Pennsylvania’s hardworking families. Individuals and nonprofits in PA-05 can learn more about how to access this program here. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that Scanlon helped to pass expanded WAP so more working families can have their homes retrofitted. WAP home retrofitting includes installing insulation, updating heating and cooling systems, upgrading electrical appliances, and making other common-sense changes to keep homes warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer with less energy usage.

“The expanded funding for the Weatherization Assistance Program is one of the many reasons I was proud to help pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said Rep. Scanlon. “Weatherization Assistance Program home retrofitting will lower utility bills, create good-paying American jobs, and expand access to clean energy for hardworking families across our region.”
